Dear PAYSA Families,
We hope you are safe and healthy and finding creative ways to pass the time with your family.
With heavy hearts, we are writing to let you know that we are canceling the 2020 spring baseball season. We don’t make this decision lightly but felt with the cancellation of school for the remainder of the year, this was the only possible course.
PAYSA is a small nonprofit organization that has already purchased equipment and made other preparations for the season and so we ask that you consider making your registration fee a tax-deductible donation to PAYSA. (We were able to hit pause on ordering hats and t-shirts so unfortunately we do have those to hand out). Should you want a full or partial refund on your registration fee instead, please contact us via email at paysabaseball@gmail.com. (We ask that you please not request a chargeback/dispute the charge with your credit card company as that complicates things on our end). Also, due to the way our registration system works, we are not able to apply this year's payment to next year.
While we have no updates for you yet on other baseball activities over the summer and fall, we are reviewing all options. In addition, we wanted to send along some resources in case you are interested in practicing with your child at home.
Here is a skills guide we have shared with our volunteer coaches in past years in case helpful to better understand the basics of throwing, catching, etc.
Additionally, check out this list of ideas for how to have fun with baseball-themed games limited to just a handful of kids at home. These are fun baseball-themed ways to stay active and get some exercise, and maybe even practice some baseball skills without any prior knowledge required! Thanks to Marc M., one of our tee-ball coaches, for putting these ideas together.
We would love to add YOUR ideas to the list! Feel free to email us with fun games/ideas you have and we will continue to add to the list.
Stay safe and we will look forward to seeing you back on the diamond soon.
Official registration for the 2020 season is now closed.
We may be able to take additional players for the Pee Wee (ages 3-4) and Tee Ball (ages 5-6) Levels but won't know for sure until later this month. Until Monday, March 16th at 5:00 p.m., you may register for the wait list for those levels (click link below) and we'll be in touch if we have room.
Questions? Email paysabaseball@gmail.com.

PAYSA is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Join our team and help us continue to make a difference in our community!
PAYSA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization so we are looking for people willing to share their time & talents in any manner from coaching, umpiring, field maintenance, fundraising & general support efforts. All volunteers will be required to pass a background check and possibly be fingerprinted in accordance with new Pennsylvania State Law. Please review the volunteer requirements on our Volunteer Info page under the Information tab.
Need some Athletics apparel for the upcoming season? Have you shopped our online store?

While the philosophy of the Mike Matheny Manifesto pertains primarily to the travel teams at PAYSA, the message is applicable across all youth sports.
We ask that you take the time to read through the Matheny Manifesto and help make it a fundamental part of the Philadelphia Athletics Youth Sports Association.
