SPRING 2024 IN-HOUSE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!!

Happy Spring PAYSA Families!

The Super Bowl is over, which means it is time to get ready for basebal! Registration is NOW OPEN for PAYSA Spring 2024 In-House Baseball. We are very excited for another year of baseball at 48th & Woodland!

UPDATE: Rookie and Minors have gone to waitlist. Feel free to contact us for more information at paysacommissioner@gmail.com.

This season, as we continue to face space constraints at our facilities, we are taking some steps to ensure that PAYSA continues to provide a high quality experience for our West Philadelphia community:

REGISTRATION CAPS - Our roster numbers at several levels were unmanageable in 2023, and in order to avoid a repeat of that situation, this spring we will be putting a hard cap on registrations, by level, and strictly adhering to a waitlist once we have reached that cap. Thus, we encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure your spot(s).

DIVISIONS

This Spring, PAYSA In-House baseball will once again be divided into five (5) divisions based upon age and playing experience:

PeeWee - introductory baseball-style activities intended for players 3 and 4 years old.

TeeBall - introductory team-oriented tee-ball with practices and games intended for players 5 and 6 years old.

Rookie - introductory team baseball with live hitting off of pitching machines intended for players 7 and 8 years old.

Minors - intermediate team baseball with live hitting off of pitching machines with introduction to kid pitching intended for players with some amount of baseball experience, for players 9 and 10 years old.

Majors - advance level of organized in-house baseball with the goal of transitioning players from hitting off of pitching machines and to player pitch, intended for players with advanced baseball experience, for players 11 and 12 years old.

The age cutoff date will be May 1st.

Practices will officially begin in the third week of March, and Opening Day will be Saturday, April 6th.

VOLUNTEERS!

Last year, for the first time, we asked all families to volunteer for at least one job with PAYSA, and you all rose to the challenge fabulously. IN 2024, ALL FAMILIES WILL ONCE AGAIN BE REQUIRED TO VOLUNTEER FOR ONE OR MORE ROLES. No baseball experience? No problem. We have many, many opportunities for folks who prefer volunteer jobs that require no baseball knowledge. We believe this requirement is essential to the sustainability of the league and the spirit of the PAYSA community.

We intend our volunteer policy to allow us to run a successful league, not to place a burden on families. If the volunteer policy would place an undue burden on your family, please feel free to contact us at paysacommissioner@gmail.com. We will keep this communication confidential.

Everyone volunteering as a coach or assistant coach will be required to submit clearances before practices begin.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

WE PLAN TO CLOSE REGISTRATION ON MARCH 13TH, OR WHEN ALL SPOTS ARE FILLED! Please register as soon as possible. We are expecting the league to fill up quickly this year and may not be able to accept late entrants. All practices and games will continue to be held at the fields at the 48th & Woodland Avenue Rec. Center. PAYSA will not turn away any family who cannot pay the full registration fee. To be eligible for financial assistance you need to contact PAYSA before starting the registration process. Contact information is provided at the bottom of this page. All information provided/discussed will remain confidential.

MULTI-PLAYER DISCOUNTS

This season we will once again be offering discounts for families with multiple players in the league, as follows:

  • First player registration fee = $95
  • Discount for 2 players; total = $170
  • Discount for 3 players; total = $220
  • Discount for 4 or more; total = $245

In order for the registration system to recognize that your family is registering multiple players, PLEASE REGISTER ALL OF YOUR PLAYERS AT THIS TIME. On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to "Register Another Player" - please click on this link to ensure that all of your family's players are registered within the same order.

QUESTIONS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

If you have any questions regarding the registration process email PAYSACommissioner@gmail.com.
